Being a naturopathic doctor is one of the most rewarding aspects on my life. There is no better feeling then when I help my patients get their health back on track. My 25 years of experience as a naturopath have been centered on general family healthcare with a clinical focus in women’s health, children’s health, weight loss and mental health. Naturopathic medicine has given me the tools to both inspire and empower my adult and paediatric patients to make healthy lifestyle choices that will benefit them for the rest of their lives. I am very excited to be able to work with such a professional team of practitioners while focusing on what I am passionate about.

For many years Dr Berni worked alongside Dr Natasha Turner ND (author of “The Hormone Diet”), where she focused her diagnostic skills on helping her patients obtain optimal hormonal balance and implemented their weight loss program. She is passionate about teen health, and supporting the many issues that adolescence can bring. She has always worked in a multidisciplinary environment and strongly believes in the importance of integrative care to address all aspects of a patient’s health and wellbeing.

Personal statement:

I believe that with the right kind of education and support, that your body can heal and return to a state of optimal health. My job is to ask the right questions, perform the right tests, and thoroughly understand all aspects of your health – physical, emotional and spiritual, in order understand what systems are out of balance. From here, we work together to remove obstacles, strengthen and repair systems, emphasize excellent nutrition and self-care, and fill in any gaps with other skilled practitioners. My goal for you is to learn how to manage your health well for the long-run, not just to solve your current health concern.

  • Preconception – the steps we can take now, to create healthier children later
  • Supporting women to have empowered pregnancies, deliveries and postpartum recoveries

  • Teaching moderation with food and nutrition – extremes are not healthy or necessary!
  • Staying on top of the latest research and health updates – I love to constantly learn
  • Writing – you can read my blog on this website, and find many guest posts online. I’m currently working on a book about: Preconception – all of the steps we can take before having children to reduce the risk of childhood issues such as allergies, asthma, ADHD, autism and diabetes.

Laura is an Honours graduate of the Institute of Holistic Nutrition and the Academy of Culinary Nutrition. To complement her nutrition education she trained as a Live Blood Cell Microscopic Analyst. She has also studied at the University of British Columbia and completed a Diploma in Early Childhood Education.

Laura combines her love of children and family with her passion for healthy living, holistic nutrition and human connection. She began her nutrition journey when she had her children. All four were born with different food sensitivities and health issues, so Laura had to learn how to feed and support them to help them thrive. She now uses her education and her own family experience raising four food-sensitive children to compassionately support families to take charge of their health.

After completing her education in nutrition, Laura was introduced to live blood cell analysis – an amazing tool that quickly determines nutritional deficiencies, malabsorption issues, sugar imbalances, the presence of damaging bacteria and parasites as well as yeast, and other fungus. Laura used live blood cell analysis to help her family stay on track with their health and then trained to become an analyst herself with Microcell. Laura incorporates Live Blood Cell Analysis in her practice as it offers instant feedback for her clients and a great starting point for their specific targeted nutrition plans.

Laura offers Live Blood Cell Analysis, one-on-one nutrition coaching, manageable meal plans, easy cooking lessons, grocery store tours and lots of healthy time-saving tips for busy families. She enjoys working with people of all ages to support them on their health journey.

My purpose as a BIE Practitioner is to support and guide you to a state of optimal health and wellbeing. My approach involves identifying any substance that may be aggravating your body, and then normalizing you to that substance. I do this by using BIE, a safe and noninvasive technology that re-introduces the electromagnetic frequencies of the substance back to your body. This then allows your body to recognize the substance, and deal with it appropriately, leading to the alleviation of the associated symptoms.
